Who we are

KOINONIA Presença Ecumênica e Serviço is an organization headquartered in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), with national and international operation, founded in 1994.

It is an non-denominational entity comprised of people from different religious traditions, gathered in a non-profit civil association, integrating the non-denominational movement and providing services to the social movement.

KOINONIA’s mission is to generate non-denominational solidarity and provide services to groups that are historically and culturally vulnerable and in process of political and social emancipation, as well as to promote ecumenism and its libertarian values.

Purpose and Privacy Policy

KOINONIA respects your right to confidentiality. The institution guarantees that under no circumstance the personal info registered will be sold, shared or disclosed. All info registered and stored is used to develop initiatives from the entity and for communication about activities.

The privacy and security of website user data are important to KOINONIA, and the organization is committed to safekeeping them. This privacy policy will inform on how we handle your personal data and your rights to privacy, in compliance with the Brazilian General Data Protection Law – LGPD (Law number 13.709).

Which personal info is collected  

The following types of personal info may be collected, stored and used:

• E-mail address

KOINONIA establishes the following security measures for storage and protection of your personal info:

• Firewalls: first line of defense in the system, filtering all information that comes, ensuring your security;
• WAF (Web Application Firewall): filters, monitors and blocks the HTTP traffic, preventing attacks resulting from security faults;
• DLP (Data Loss Prevention): detects possible data violations;
• Periodical review of permissions and accesses to data: monitoring of activities (revoke access, check and eliminate obsolete data for archiving or disposal);
• Data backup: data security copy;
• Physical controls and environment access controls: manages flow of people and aims at preventing or hampering the access;
• Protection against viruses malwares;
• Disaster Recovery Plan: one of the goals is to ensure the security level;
• High-availability environments: one of the aspects is data security;
• Encryption (HTTPS): on HTTPS addresses, the information is encrypted (coded), increasing data security.

Contact form

KOINONIA uses an extension module from the company Locaweb to collect data from the user contact form and Mailchimp for e-mail marketing, notifications of activities and initiatives. Both companies have personal data protection policies, available on the following links.

Analytical data

KOINONIA uses outsourced service providers to monitor and analyze the website use, such as Google Analytics:

Google Analytics is a web analysis service offered by Google that tracks and reports the website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the service use.
